Solar energy is used mostly to power the receivers away from the constant current sources. In this example we will discuss the car home, which aims to provide travelers with enough energy to make use of its equipment. Suppose you want to buy a solar battery, a photovoltaic cell. We have some equipment which we supply with electricity produced from solar energy . What exactly should go in the kit, which will allow them to fund? And how to choose these devices? An example is close to me, because I have a car and I have it set sun , which supplies part of the current receivers.
Suppose the car has the wiring voltage of 12 V. We want to use its equipment such as electric water pump, radio and lighting. Accepted that the use of lighting a 20W and the other receivers will last no more than 3 h per day, resulting in daily power consumption of 60 Wh . We assume that, during the holidays can happen two days without the sun completely. These days we can not produce electricity, but we consume it. Energy accumulated during one sunny day in the battery we will have to suffice for three days of our receivers.

If so, our laptop power must have a capacity of 310 Wh. Since in our system we have 12 V voltage, battery capacity, measured in ampere-hours will be less than 26 Ah. It will be important when choosing a battery, because that is given in Ah of capacity. All batteries have a certain electrical energy storage efficiency. Assume that this installed in our car has an efficiency of 70%. So in order to recharge the battery 310 Wh of energy, you need to deliver 70% energy.

Since we have full lighting for 4 hours each day to provide enough energy, our set of solar panels must have a power about 111 W.In this way, we know what our capacity is to have the battery and what kind of power is to have a solar panel. And what about the other devices? These other devices to control battery charging and inverter DC to AC. The charge regulator are selected having regard to the power cells connected to the laptop. Converter, in turn, are selected keeping in mind the power consumption by the laptop. And that's it.
